Carlos Reyes Casanova, a lifelong resident of Alamosa, Colorado, passed away on July 15, 2026, at the age of 39. He was born on May 8, 1987.

Carlos was raised in Alamosa and graduated from Alamosa High School before continuing his education at Adams State College, where he earned his associate’s degree. He was a hardworking and dedicated individual who most recently worked as a cabinet assembler.

Carlos had a passion for his family. He always wanted everyone to feel like they were wanted in their home. His smile that was contagious, a joy to be around. He was one to really see the little things in life. He enjoyed listening to music, fishing, collecting card, golfing, playing basketball and baseball and making lasting memories with those he loved. Above all, his greatest joy in life was his family, especially his children.

He is survived by his loving wife, Chantelle Casanova; his daughter, Emelia Casanova; his sons, Jordan Casanova and JoZiah McRoy; his mother, Debra Casanova; his sisters, Jessica Casanova and Nina (Daniel) Cortez; and his grandmother, Stella Sanchez.

He was preceded in death by his unborn child; his father, Joe Casanova; his brother, Joseph Casanova; and his grandfather, Ted Sanchez.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed prior to the Mass at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at the Alamosa Municipal Cemetery.

Carlos will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of family, his strong work ethic, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
