Bill Lyle Riggenbach, devoted family man and renowned farmer, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, at his home in Monte Vista, and at the age of 84 following a brief illness. He was born on December 15, 1941, in Del Norte, Colorado, to Kenneth Edward Riggenbach and Dorothy Irene Wiseman Riggenbach.
Bill was a proud graduate of high school and took great pride in his fabrication skills. He dedicated his life to agriculture, nurturing the land and contributing to the community. An avid fisherman and passionate reader, enjoying NASCAR, Denver Bronco Football and LSU Baseball. Bill enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, always finding joy in the great outdoors and the company of his loved ones. He was a member of the Monte Vista B.P.O.E. Elks lodge #2456.
On June 9, 1963, he married Patricia Sue Seyfried at the Methodist Church in Monte Vista, with whom he shared a loving partnership and raised three children: Sam Riggenbach, Debbie Bressman, and Lucas Riggenbach. His family was the cornerstone of his existence, and his love for them will forever be etched in their hearts.
Bill is survived by his children Debbie Bressman, Sam (Beth) Riggenbach, and Lucas (Stephanie) Riggenbach. He also leaves behind numerous cherished grandchildren: Lance (Krystal) Bressman, Kelli (Robin) Blendin, Kyle Riggenbach, Mallory Riggenbach, Payton Riggenbach, and Carson Riggenbach, as well as his beloved great-grandchildren: Adelaide, Aiden, Avery, Aaliyah, Annalise Bressman, Rayna Mayak, Maelah Jiron, and Malachi Blendin.
In addition to his immediate family, Bill is survived by his siblings: Lynda (John) Shue, Nancy (Collin) Gardner and Susan Riggenbach, along with many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
Preceding him in death were his beloved wife, Pat Riggenbach; his parents, Ken and Dorothy Riggenbach; and his great-grandson, Aethilind Bressman.
Cremation was performed at the Rogers Family Mortuary Crematory in Alamosa. Rogers Family Mortuary of Monte Vista is in care of the arrangements. In leiu of flowers please send donations to the Monte Vista Volunteer Fire Department.
