She shared a cherished and loving marriage with her late husband, William O. Patton, and together they navigated the waters of life with grace.

BettyLou's legacy is honored through her devoted family. She lived to see the joys and triumphs of her surviving children, Julie Null of Mosca, CO, Robert Giese of Ocala, Florida, and Shari Lange of Oswego, IL. Her love will forever be reflected in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry her memory forward with every step they take. Though preceded in death by her sons, Mark Norman Giese and Ronald Giese, grandsons Nicholas Giese and Joseph "Joe" Null, and her brother Robert Melchiori, the fond memories of times shared remain a cherished part of her family's story.

BettyLou's professional life was dedicated to serving as a Secretary for East Aurora High School, where she was not just a staff member but a warm presence that brightened the halls. Her natural ability to connect with students and faculty alike made her a beloved figure during her many years of service.

Throughout her life, BettyLou was a paragon of community involvement and personal interests that reflected her caring and friendly spirit. The feathered friends at her backyard feeders enjoyed her generous nature, finding solace and sustenance in her love for bird feeding. Her affinity for weekly soap operas provided her with delightful escapism and joy.
