Betty Jean Clara

ALAMOSA—Longtime valley resident Betty Jean Clara Plane, 91, passed away on November 28, 2021.
Betty was born in Monte Vista, Colorado to Theodore and Clara Schnitker. She lived her childhood in the Monte Vista area and graduated in 1948 from Monte Vista High School. She met her loving husband John "Jack" Plane and they were married August 16, 1949 and celebrated 61 years of marriage before Jack's passing.
Betty and Jack had 3 children, Larry, Bob and Karen. They lived in Alamosa where they experienced a ranch and in later years had B and J Angus. One of the biggest accomplishments Jack and Betty had was Jack's Market which will have a 50th anniversary in April of 2022. All three of their children's families continued the legacy of Jack's Market.
Betty is survived by her children: Larry (Raydene) Plane, Robert (Glenna) Plane, Karen (Robert) Willis; her grandchildren: John (Stacey) Plane, Jim (Melissa) Plane, Troy (Cheri) Plane, Jennifer (Jason) Bailey, Nicki Willis (Justin), Crystal (Sam) Evig, and Kimberly Willis; as well as 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, her brothers and sisters in-law, Don (Lynn) Plane and Thelma (Jerry) Allen as well as numerous other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack Plane, great grandson Jordan Plane, three brothers; Ludwig Schnitker, Carl (Vicki) Schnitker and Eric (Patricia) Schnitker and two sisters, Elizabeth (Cliff) Sedwick and Mary Schnitker and her brother and sister-in-law Bill and Bertha Plane.
The family would like to thank Sharmar Nursing Home and New Century Hospice for the wonderful care of our mother. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to New Century Hospice at 1320 Fortino, Blvd. Suite C Pueblo, CO 81008.
Cremation was selected and a Rosary will be held at 9:30 om Tuesday December 14, 2021 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa with a Mass beginning at 10:00 am.
