Alamosa resident Benjamin Matthew Sanchez, 37, died January 24, 2023 at the Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, Colorado.

Ben was born in Alamosa on April 24, 1985, the son to Michael Jeffrey Sanchez and Patricia Archuleta. He married Marina Avila on December 23, 2022 in Alamosa.

Ben loved the mountains and liked to fish and hunt for deer and elk antler sheds. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for his family.

Ben is survived by his mother Patricia Archuleta of Ft. Garland, CO; his wife Marina Avila of Alamosa; his children Benjamin Sanchez of Blanca, CO, Aleigha Sanchez and Jamie Sanchez, both of Blanca, CO; his step-children Alfonso Avila, Savanah Avila, Angelo Avila, Maximus Muniz, and Anthony Muniz; his brother Michael Paul (Samantha) Sanchez of Ft. Garland, CO; his maternal grandmother Alice Archuleta of Ft. Garland, CO; the mother of his daughters Melissa Cordova of Blanca, CO; his ex-father-in-law Fidel Sandoval and family; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Ben is preceded in death by his father Michael Sanchez, his grandfather Paul Archuleta, his parents-in-law Neoma Lucero and Greg Avila.

Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 2, 2023 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa.
