Obituary for Wanda Carmen Metz

Wanda C. Metz age 77 of Del Norte, Colorado passed away peacefully at the University of Colorado Hospital in Denver on January 14, 2020. Wanda was born on December 13, 1942 in Commerce City, Colorado to Kenneth and Lillie Weaver. She graduated from Adams City High School.

Although Wanda spent 25 years as a bookkeeper for Bill Keeling Oil and Wright Valley Oil Companies, her true passion was spending time with her family and in the mountains. She couldn’t get enough camping, fishing and hunting. Another passion she had was spending time with her 3rd child, Butthead, her beloved Springer Spaniel. They spent countless hours outside playing ball.

Wanda is survived by the love of her life, Raymond Pacheco of Del Norte. She was a loving mother and best friend to her children Don (Missy) Oney of North Dakota and Donna Oney of Monte Vista, Colorado. She is also survived by her brothers, Wendell Weaver of Blackhawk, Colorado and Warren Weaver of Monte Vista, Colorado, her grandchildren, Alisha Browning (Josh Muniz), Casey (Amanda) Becker, Joshua Becker, Delyce (Cory) Oney-Desrosier, Shalyce (Collin) Trujillo, DJ Oney, Cody (Alana) Varner and Brandon Oney, fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild as well as numerous nieces, nephews and her close friends, Joann Aguilar and Pat Butero.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Derick Oney and her beloved Chico.
Cremation was selected and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday January 21, 2020 at Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista located at 404 Morris Street. To express condolences, please visit www.rogersfunerals.com
