Obituary for Vickie Lynn Myers



Longtime Center resident Vickie Lynn Myers, 67, passed away on September 10, 2022. She was born on January 23, 1955 in West Virginia to Jack and Billie Jean (Carter) Shrewsbury. Vickie married Gerald Walker Myers in Aurora, Colorado on May 28, 1977. Vickie was a member of the Master Farm Homemakers, United Methodist Women, Martha Circle, the Town and Country Club a 4-H volunteer and the Minnie L. Harding Education Loan Fund Committee.

Vickie had a bachelors degree in Home Economics and was a substitute teacher and volunteered to teach Bible School. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Gerald, spent many hours in her sewing room and above all, loved spending time with her family. She the highest standards for being a mom and grandma to her family.

She is survived by her husband Gerald Myers of Center, her children Cory (Brandy) Myers of Center and Brad (Brittany) Myers of Bryan, Texas, her grandchildren, Coulter, Corbin, Colsen and Katelynn, her sister Nancy (Kit) Greenbaum, her brothers-in-law and sisters in-law, Caren and Dave Graham and Cheryl and Duane Fransen, her uncle Donald Shrewsbury of Cullman, Alabama and her nieces and nephews, Randy (Brandi) Greenbaum, Kayla (Kent) Herrman, Kelly (Travis) Polzin, Ryan (Casey) Graham, Dale (Keri) Fransen and Matthew Fransen as well as other extended family.

Vickie was preceded in death by her parents and her mother-in-law and father-in-law Don and Shirley Myers.

Cremation was selected and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday September 19, 2022 at the Center United Methodist Church.
