Valley resident Vertina Hernandez, 83, passed away on December 7, 2021. She was born on August 1, 1938 in Los Valdezes, Colorado to Jose and Anita Espinoza-Gonzales. She enjoyed being in the mountains, dancing, telling jokes, but above all, she treasured her time as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She truly cherished her family.

Vertina is survived by her children, Leonard (Nancy) Trujillo, Anthony (Felice) Martinez, Donna (Valeriano) Aguado and Ernestine LeBlanc, her grandchildren, Arturo (Claudia) Rodriguez, Anthony (Janelle) Lucero, Michael lucero, Leonard (Flor) Trujillo, Amber Trujillo, Alexus Cisneros, Emilio Cisneros, Pearl Martinez, Phillip (Loretta) LeBlanc, Jr, Santana LeBlanc, Isiaih LeBlanc. Rick (Kenisha) Trujillo, Monica (Ashley) LeBlanc Destiny Trujillo Gardea, Jose Aguado, Mary Aguado, Valerie (Octavio) Leon, Kristie (Chris) Rodriguez, Daniel Aguado, Michelle (Christopher) Anderson, David (Desirte) Aguado, Alicia Garcia, Ella (Oscar) Domingo, Margarito (Lilian) Garcia, Hector (Ileana) Garcia and Jessica McRoy as well as 58 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and her siblings, Bernice Field, JoAnn Sanz and Frank Gonzales as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Anita Garcia, grandson Joseph Claude Trujillo, granddaughter Felicia LeBlanc and her siblings, Feliberto Gonzales, Tillie Velasquez, Vicki Charboneau, Eloisa Martinez, Andrew Gonzales and Samuel Gonzales.
