Obituary for Van Lane Pepper

Longtime Valley resident Van Lane Pepper, 80, died November 13, 2021 at the Evergreen Nursing Home in Alamosa.

Van was born in Del Norte, Colorado the proud son to JC Pepper and Blanche Fyock Pepper. He married his sweetheart Jeanene Pepper on April 12, 1962 in Alamosa, Colorado. They enjoyed 60 years together.

Van started as a teacher and coach then owned and operated Spring Rock Farms west of Center, CO. He served in the United States Army National Guard.

He is survived by his wife Jeanene Pepper of Monte Vista; his children Kelby (Jacque) Pepper of Center, CO, and Trevan (Nikki) Pepper of Center, CO, daughter-in-law Lisa McGlothin of Greeley, CO as well as six grandchildren, one great-grandchild on the way and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.

Van is preceded in death by his parents JC and Blanche and his brother Colbert Pepper and his son Trae Pepper.

A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 19, 2021 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Monte Vista Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
