Obituary for Theresa Vivinita "Terri" Casias

Alamosa resident Theresa “Terri” Vivinita Casias, 49, died March 27, 2014 at her home in Alamosa.
Terri was born February 17, 1965 in La Jara, Colorado the daughter of Joseph Lawrence Romero and Estella Mary Chavez. She married Joseph Celestino Casias I on April 29, 1989 in Ortiz, Colorado. They have enjoyed more than 24 years together.
Terri was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, working on crossword puzzles, church activities, reading and learning arts and crafts. One of her favorite things was spending time with her family and socializing. She had a big heart and was always willing to help out in caring for others. She also liked to travel and listen to country music. Terri collected many different movies throughout the years.
She is survived by her mother Estella Mary Chavez of Alamosa; her loving husband Joseph C. Casias I of Alamosa; her children Maria Philomena Casias of Alamosa, Joseph Celestino Casias II of Denver and Manuelito Serafin Casias of Alamosa; her siblings Susan (Terryl) Smith of Alamosa, Joseph Lawrence Romero, Jr of Los Pinos, NM, Nancy Duran of Alamosa and Joyce Romero of Denver; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Her father Lawrence Romero, her infant daughter Clare Marie Casias, and her paternal grandfather Gilbert Gustavo Romero preceded her in death.
Cremation was chosen and a Recitation of the Rosary will be held 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2013 followed by a Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014, both at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. Inurnment will follow services in the Alamosa Cemetery.
