Obituary for Teresa Gutierrez de Sandoval
Center resident Teresa Gutierrez de Sandoval, 95, passed away peacefully January 14, 2021 at her home in Center, surrounded by her loving family and under hospice care.
Teresa was born May 19, 1925 in Jalisco, Mexico the daughter of Teodoro and Anastasia Gutierrez. She married Marsial Sandoval and they enjoyed 53 years prior to his death.
Teresa loved spending time with her family and especially making Mole y Arroz for many of them on her much-cherished Sunday dinners. She had a good sense of humor and liked to joke around. Teresa also enjoyed her cheeseburgers. She had a couple of sayings that she would tell her family frequently “Te voy a venir a jalar las patas” and “Aver asta que lleques a mi edad”. She was a devoted catholic and prayed constantly.
She is survived by her children Hilario (Dolores) Sandoval, Sebastian (Ma-Ines) Sandoval, Tomas Sandoval, Zenaido (JoAnne) Sandoval, Clemente (Leonor) Sandoval, Luis (Maria) Sandoval and Antonia (Moises) Mejia; thirteen grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the Rogers Family Mortuary, 205 State Avenue in Alamosa. Recitation of the Rosary will be held 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass 10:00 am Monday, January 18, 2021 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. Interment will follow services in the Monte Vista Cemetery.
