Jason and Denise, I am truly sorry for the loss of your mother, Tammy. I know this is a difficult time for you and your family, and there are many logistical, emotional and spiritual things to sort out. More than anything else, I hope that you can soon find peace as you pass through this experience; a lasting peace that comes from an understanding of God's plan for each of us. Death is not the end. It is another step forward in our Heavenly Father’s plan for His children. When the physical body dies, the spirit continues to live. Sometime after death, the spirit and the body will reunite—never to be separated again. This is called the resurrection, and the Savior Jesus Christ made it possible when He rose from the dead so that all could “be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:22). Death is a part of God’s plan and provides an opportunity for faith to overcome fear. It is a time when God does not allow us the option of whether or not we will face the trial, only how we will face it. “Be assured that there is a safe harbor.
