Longtime valley resident Susie Julia Jaramillo, 90, passed away on May 16, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at the Evergreen Nursing Home in Alamosa. She was born on July 28, 1929 in Los Sauses, Colorado to Jose and Lucrecia Marquez. She married Arthur Ben Jaramillo, Sr. on October 13th, 1956. Susie loved spending time with her family and friends and especially loved cooking for guests.

She is survived by her children, Larry Marquez of Antonito, Colorado, Eva Jaramillo of Antonito, Colorado, Mark Jaramillo of Northglenn, Colorado and Yavanne Jaramillo of Taos, New Mexico, one grandchild, four great grandchildren and her siblings, Johnny Marquez of Antonito, Colorado and Orlinda Marquez of Alamosa, Colorado as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Arthur Jaramillo, Jr. and her sister Lucy Salazar.
