Obituary for Sharon Kay Silver

Longtime Alamosa resident and Rockwall, Texas resident Sharon Kay Silver, 76, died of Pancreatic Cancer at her home in Rockwall on Friday, August 26, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Sharon’s life began in Lima, Ohio on November 30, 1946, the daughter of John Crouch and Letha Maxine (Armstrong) Crouch. She married the love of her life, Nelson Edward “Slick” Silver in May of 1973 and they enjoyed 40 years together until his death in 2014.

Sharon was a hard-worker and owned and operated several businesses in Alamosa. She owned Alpine Cleaners, Sharon’s Magic Maids cleaning service, Silver Floral Design, and most recently worked for Alcon Construction. Sharon also volunteered for the Alamosa Sheriff’s Office as a Victim’s Advocate and loved helping people. She had a good sense of humor and rarely missed an opportunity to enjoy a good laugh.

In her early years she supported her children in all their activities and endeavors, including being a 4-H mom. She was a recipient of an award from Alamosa High School’s Maroon Pride for all her donations and efforts given to the kids.

She is survived by her children Rhonda Silver, Rod (Kristi) Silver, and Kara Silver, all of Rockwall, Texas; her grandchildren Ty (Heather) Schmittle, Kylan Beall, Cody (Abby) Silver, Lacie (Kriss) Vaughn-Wiescamp, and Maya Barnes; her great-granddaughter Taizleigh Villa; her sister Susan Maestas of Ft. Lupton, CO; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Chad Adams, and her grandson Gavin Silver.

Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Billy Claunch Residence, located at 3498 State Highway 370, in Monte Vista, Colorado at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2022.
