Santiago Orion Dyer, October 22, 1999 - April 7th, 2019

Santiago Orion Dyer left this Earth to find his place in the stars, Saturday night April 7th, 2019. He was the son of a submariner and a nurse. He was a brilliant adventurer, comedian, gamer, hard worker, scuba diver, mountain man, student, and was loved by everyone that ever knew him.

Santiago was born in the small town of Kingsland, GA on October 22nd, 1999 to Hunter Lee and Promise Dyer. Throughout his life he lived in Kitsap County, Washington on two separate occasions, Fernandina Beach, FL, and Agana, Guam. In 2018, he moved to Alamosa, CO to pursue an associates degree in Welding and to be near family.

Santiago had a giant personality and lit up any room he was in. His heart was as big as a mountain and he loved with all of his heart. He was quick to crack a joke and kept smiles on the faces of the ones he knew. He was a devoted son and called his Mom and Dad almost everyday when he was away at school.

Santiago was an adventurer. He had hiked the mountains of Washington, Colorado, and Guam. He was certified to scuba dive to 120 feet. He had dove in the tropical waters of Guam exploring South Pacific reefs and sunken WWII wrecks. Santiago had hunted bears and caught salmon in Washington state. He learned to ride a dirt bike at the age of 6. Santiago was always ready to see what was around the next bend.

Santiago enjoyed playing video games and hanging out with his brother and friends until the wee hours of the morning, laughing and joking until the sun came out. He was a true do-it-yourselfer. He built his own high speed gaming computer when he was 14. He loved working on his new Mustang and adding parts to make it sharper and faster.

Santiago is survived by his brother, Hunter Dyer, his mother and father, Promise and Lee Dyer, Great Grandmother Helen Dyer, Grandparents Dennis and Bernie Suazo, Kathy Suazo, Kenneth Wilson, Eugene Dyer, cousins Cortez and Sienna Suazo, Alec Dyer, Jacianna Suazo, uncle Alazan Suazo and aunt Keleigh Dyer, and two bichon frise’s Bubba and Fifi.

There will be a viewing for family and close friends Thursday, April 11th from 6 to 8 p.m. and funeral service Friday, April 12th at 1 p.m., both at Rogers Family Mortuary, 205 State St, Alamosa, CO. Interment will follow services in the Alamosa Cemetery.
