Obituary for Sam Traves Levi Salazar

GRAND JUNCTION-Grand Junction resident Samuel Traves Levi Salazar, 32, passed away May 6, 2013 at the St. Mary Corwin Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado. Sam was born February 18, 1981 in Grand Junction, Colorado to Sam Salazar and Lila L. Highline.
Sam enjoyed fishing, being in the mountains and listening to music. He especially enjoyed the time spent with his family and friends and was a very loving person. He was a member of the Grand Junction Community Christian Church.
He is survived by his parents Sam Salazar of Alamosa and Lila L.Highline of Alamosa, Colorado, his children Christian Arrevanddo of Saguache, Colorado, Keyanna Riley of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Samuel Traves Levi Salazar, Jr. and Elijah Michael Salazar both from Alamosa, Colorado, his brothers and sister Sadie P. Camis, Lucas N. Salazar both from Grand Junction, Colorado, Vince E. Salazar from Alamosa, Colorado and Shanniah Salazar of Alamosa, his paternal grandmother Sadie Salazar as well as his niece Hope Salazar, special friend Lisa Vigil as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and other friends who will miss him.
Sam is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Robert and Patricia Highline, his paternal grandfather Sergio C. Salazar, his cousins Abel Martin Salazar and Cody Fritz, his Godson Isiaah Paul Salazar and his niece Mercedes Salazar.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Feed Store Church in Monte Vista at 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow in the Alamosa Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the Sam Salazar Jr. Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
