Del Norte resident Rufina “Ruth” Garcia passed away on December 21, 2013 at the Memorial Hospital Central in Colorado Springs.
She was born on November 30, 1943 in Del Norte, Colorado to Joe Herrera and Virginia Sisneros. During her life she lived in Idaho, Utah and Arizona. She enjoyed traveling, spending time at the casino, watching her Novelas, cooking, baking, enjoyed being outdoors and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her children; Karla (Demetrio) Rodriguez, Steve (Margaret) Gallegos, Fernando “Chato” Morales, Elaine (Fabian) Lucero, Leon Morales, Jeannette “Adella” (Steve) Archuleta, Rose (Porfirio) Urbina and Ramon (Tara) Garcia, 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ramon Garcia, her daughter Elizabeth as well as 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday December 28, 2013 at the Assembly of God Church in Del Norte, Colorado. Burial will follow the service in the Del Norte Cemetery.
