Obituary for Roxie Lee Stanley

Roxie Lee Stanley October 11, 1945-January 24, 2021. Roxie Lee Stanley-75, returned to her Heavenly Home on January 24, 2021. Roxie was born to Eugene Ferrell Barr and Gladys Westbrook Barr on October 11, 1945 in Alamosa, Colorado. She was the fifth of 13 children. Roxie cherished family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandbaby. Roxie had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a steadfast faith in the plan of salvation and the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Roxie devoted her life to her family and enjoyed spending every second she could with them.

Roxie served in the scouting program, she worked for Church Social Services, and worked many years in the post office. Her pride and joy was being a homemaker and a mother to her children.

Roxie met the love of her life Preston Lee Stanley in the winter of 1962. They were married on September 11, 1964 in Sanford, Colorado and later sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple. Preston and Roxie were blessed with two children: Qiana Lee (Randy) Rust of Lehi, Utah and York Preston (Natalie) Stanley of Lehi, Utah. The blessings continued as they welcomed their seven grandchildren: Qi’Sean Rust, Qi’Ton (Morgan) Rust, Raeleigh Rust, Hadlee Stanley, Kolter Stanley, Jax Stanley, Sophee Stanley, and one great grandchild Ellery Rust.

Roxie was proceeded in death by her parents Eugene and Gladys Barr, her father and mother in law, Grove Forrest Stanley and Clara Alice Stanley, her sister Elizabeth Bushnell, and her brother Richard Kent Barr.

Roxie is survived by her husband, Preston Lee Stanley, her children, grandchildren, great grandchild, several nieces and nephews, four sisters, 6 brothers, numerous in laws, and many close family members.

A private family service will be held at the Sanford First Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sanford with burial following in the Sanford Cemetery. To express condolences, please visit www.rogersfunerals.com
