Monte Vista resident Rose M. Gardea, 45, passed away on October 25, 2016. She was born on April 28, 1971 in Salida, Colorado to Jose and Maria Gardea. Rose enjoyed painting, dancing, making jewelry and especially spending time with family and friends and loving boyfriend Lee.

She is survived by her siblings, Marsha Gardea-Gallegos, Jose M. “Mike” Gardea and Mitchiko A. Salazar all of Monte Vista and Pollyann Martinez of Commerce City, her nieces and nephews; Ben Gallegos, Natalia Gallegos, Elizeo LeBlanc, Marcus Gardea and Penelope Gardea, her boyfriend, Lee Vargas of Monte Vista as well as his children, Kazzandra Vargas, Charity Vargas, Adrian Vargas and Tommy Vargas.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation was selected and a Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday November 4, 2016 also at the church.
