Obituary for Robert Eugene "Bob" Baldwin

Lifetime Alamosa resident Robert “Bob” Eugene Baldwin, 81, died December 17, 2013 at his home in Alamosa under Hospice care. Bob was born in Alamosa, Colorado on February 23, 1932, the son of Ernest Sylvester Baldwin and Amanda Edith Felt Baldwin. He married Betty Jane Jackson in Taos, New Mexico on August 8, 1953 and they celebrated 60 years together this year.
Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged after 3 years of service. He traveled while in the service but his love was the beauty of the desert.
He owned and operated a painting business, mostly painting houses. Bob also worked for about 10 years in Maintenance at Evergreen Nursing Home.
He was an avid reader and read the bible faithfully. He was a member of the Philadelphia Church of God and had a very strong faith.
Bob was a musically talented and played the guitar, harmonica and piano. In his younger years he liked to fish. He will be remembered by his heart warming smile and as a kind, compassionate and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Bob is survived by his wife Betty Baldwin of Alamosa; his children Lori (Volney) LeBaron of Dillon, CO, Sherri (Will Porter) Sage of Alamosa, Nancy Alley of Colorado Springs, CO, Bobbi (Rick) Loftis of Alamosa, Vicki (Allen) Baker of Bentonville, AR; his grandchildren Aaron Baldwin of Bentonville, AR, Larissa LeBaron-Foster of Denver, Lacey LeBaron of Steamboat, CO, Krista Loftis of Alamosa, Nikki Loftis of Alamosa, Justin Alley and Kyle Alley, both of Colorado Springs, Tim Baker and Ben Baker, both of Bentonville, AR; four great-grandchildren and his brothers Daniel Baldwin of Pueblo and Orville Baldwin of Monte Vista; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
His parents, his brothers Clarence Malmberg, Roy Malmberg, Alva Malmberg, Ted Baldwin and Leo Baldwin all preceded him in death.
Cremation was chosen and services will be announced at a future date.
