Precious was one of nine children born to Walter Edward and Eva Jane Brown Carter in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. She was born on December 20, 1930. Precious met Ray Snyder as a young child, and they grew up knowing one another’s families. Precious worked alongside her husband in his home construction business for many years as his bookkeeper and secretary. She was also an accomplished seamstress and created many different home furnishing accents and articles of clothing for herself and her many beloved family members. Trips with her husband Ray and friends to Germany and Alaska were among her favorite and most memorable trips. After vacationing in the mountains for many years, she and Ray decided to make the mountains their permanent home and moved to the San Luis Valley 27 years ago.
