Patrick Joseph Martinez gained his wings peacefully in his sleep on June 14, 2022 at the age of 61 after a long battle with cancer. Patrick was born on March 16, 1961 to Elizario Martinez and Angie Martinez Marquez in Monte Vista, Colorado.

Patrick never allowed cancer to stop him from enjoying life until the very end. He loved his life and everyone in it. He had a heart of gold! Patrick would give a person his last penny in his pocket and the shirt off of his back if they needed it. His family was his pride and joy. Patrick’s hobbies evolved around music and family. Music was his peace and quiet. All the family would gather around him when he pulled out his guitar. If you didn’t see him with his guitar, he could often be found outside finding a project to work on.

He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents Eutimio and Ermalinda Martinez.

Patrick is survived by his wife Darlene Lucero, his children, Sherry Baker, Tish Lucero, Steven Lucero and Michael Lucero, his mother Angie Martinez Marquez, his sisters, Joyce Martinez, Linda Altamirano, Joanne Sandoval, his brothers, Angelo Medina and Brian Marquez as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday June 28, 2022 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. Burial will follow the services in the Workers Union Cemetery. To express condolences, please visit www.rogersfunerals.com
