Patricia “Grams” Marie (Donahue) Scott, of Alamosa, CO passed away peacefully in her home on February 17, 2021 at the age of 97. Mother of five, grandmother of nine, great grandmother of six and great-great grandmother of one, she was a strong, vivacious force in her family's life and an inspiration to all who knew her. Born on March 20, 1923 in Casper, Wyoming to Myrtle Robidou Donahue (deceased) and John Elden Donahue (deceased), she moved with her family to the Los Angeles area when she was very young. She met her beloved Husband, Gordon H. Scott (deceased) in High School and they were married on May 17th, 1942 one year after graduation. Gordon joined the Army Air Corps. right out of High School prompting 30 years of whirlwind travel around the United States and the world. Patricia moved the family wherever Gordon was stationed and was the charming hostess of many party’s and events as an officers wife. After Gordon’s retirement, she just couldn’t shake the moving bug and they moved to Woodland Park, CO, followed by one year of travel in their trailer before settling at the White Mountain Ranch outside of Blanca, purchased in 1967. They spent the next 20 years building, refurbishing and renovating the place. Her greatest joy was to create memories for her grandchildren and in creating a haven for the family. Over the years Grams and Pappy (Gordon) moved another 7 times before building their final home just outside of Alamosa. Patricia is survived by four of her five children, Colleen (and Patrick) Moore of Colorado Springs, Patrick (and Therese) Scott of Aiken, SC, Pamela (and Donnie) Soapes of Alamosa, CO and Brian Scott of Berkeley, CA and all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great-great granddaughter. She was strong and capable to the end and she will be missed by many. The family will observe a private Celebration of Life for ‘Grams’ on March 20th at her home in Alamosa. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Visiting Angels of Alamosa, who were so supportive and caring for our family in the last few months of Mom’s journey.
