Obituary for Orlando Encarnacion Chacon

Orlando Encarnacion Chacon, 86, passed away at the Rio Grande Inn on January 4, 2018. Orlando was born on March 26, 1931 in Los Rincones, Colorado to Encarnacion and Crotilde Chacon.

Orlando was a Trucker by trade for most of his life and enjoyed traveling to new places and seeing the country, especially making faithful visits to El Santuario in Chimayo, NM. When he wasn’t on the road, he enjoyed visiting friends and family. Orlando also enjoyed cooking and baking. His family loved coming over and seeing a fresh batch of his giant pancakes or some warm prune or minced meat turnovers,”empanaditas” waiting on the counter for them. Orlando loved his friends and his family and will be missed by many.

Orlando is survived by his children, Diane (Mike) Vigil of Manassa, Manuel (Norma) Chacon of Capulin, Ray Chacon of Romeo, CO, Juanita (Moises) Ruiz of Salt Lake City, UT, Angelo (Manuela) Chacon of Salt Lake City, UT, Orlando (Jackie) Chacon of Manassa, Yolanda (Luis) Cisneros of Salt Lake City, UT, Richard (Carol) Chacon of Romeo, Tina Chacon of Salt Lake City, Utah, Dennis Chacon of Romeo and Sidney Chacon of Romeo, CO. He is also survived by his siblings; Elipio Chacon Sr. of Romeo, Sylvia Baroz of La Jara, Adelmo Chacon of La Jara, and Eddie Chacon Sr. of Romeo, as well as 29 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maria Tina Chacon, as well as his parents; Encarnacion and Crotilde Chacon, his siblings; Eufelia Garcia, Mary Martinez, and Benita Garcia.

A Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM at St Theresa Catholic Church in Manassa, Colorado on Thursday, January 11, 2018. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, January 12, 2018 also at St Theresa Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will take place following services at Los Cerritos Cemetery in Manassa, Colorado.
