Obituary for Nathan William Smith
La Jara resident Nathan W. Smith, 32, died August 1, 2022 at his home in La Jara under Hospice care.
Nathan was born in Alamosa, Colorado on March 29, 1990, the son to Byron Robert Smith and Cynthia Ann Wade Smith.
Nathan worked as a Farmer and did some Logging with his brother. Nathan was a rock hound and enjoyed finding all kinds of different rocks in the mountains. He was a tinkerer with many things and in his spare time enjoyed fishing and drawing.
Nathan is survived by his brother Cody (Jennifer) Smith of La Jara; his nieces Charlie Rose and Amelia Joan Smith; his aunts and uncles Hilda (Larry) Hunter of Alamosa, Tanya (Kirk) McBride of Alaska/Arizona, Zina (Harvey) Horton of Alamosa, Sam (Geraldine) Smith of La Jara, Sharon (Bob) Shipley of Virginia, Sharlene Smith and Maryann Asher of Colorado, Carol (Doug) Jones of Alamosa, Susan Landon of Edgewater, NM, and Nancy Perdasofpy of Broomfield, CO; as well as numerous cousins and extended family.
Nathan is preceded in death by his father, his mother, his grandparents Olin and Joan Wade and Bob and Vivian Smith.
Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life gathering will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa.
