Alamosa resident Myrna Bell Swift, 68, passed away on September 27, 2020. She was born on December 27, 1951 in Denver, CO to Clyde and Eileen (Murray) Swift of Alamosa. She grew up in the San Luis Valley, lived in Denver for several years, and eventually returned to the Valley, which she always considered her home.
Myrna worked at the Alamosa Welcome Center for eleven years, where visitors enjoyed her engaging personality and helpful attitude. Her favorite projects involved working with the Center’s dedicated volunteers.
She became an active member of the Alamosa SDA Church in 2015, and formed many lasting friendships within the congregation.
She looked forward to volunteering each year with the Early Iron Festival, and was instrumental in organizing the Ladies Tea and Vintage Fashion Show from 2007-2019.
Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Eileen Swift. She is survived by her children, Jill Corbin of Savannah, Georgia and Neal Witkowski of Berlin, Germany, her sister Jewell Ann Meredith of Alamosa, Colorado, and her stepchildren, Dan Witkowski of Telluride, Colorado and June Ritchie of Arvada, Colorado.
