Obituary for Max Terreal Fringer

Lifetime valley resident Max Terreal Fringer, 75, died December 14, 2022 at his home in Manassa, surrounded by his loving family.

Max’s life began in Alamosa, Colorado on February 23, 1947, the son to Leverette Fringer and Alice Wilson Fringer. He married Mary Vannoy in Manassa, Colorado on August 11, 1973. Their marriage was sealed for all time and eternity in the Mesa, Arizona temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on February 23, 1982.

Max worked for many years in Lapidary and for the sawmill and was a hard worker. He enjoyed the mountains and liked to camp and fish. He also enjoyed going on cruises and travelling with his family, driving around the countryside, and seeing all the towns and sights. Above all, he loved his family and especially his grandchildren. Max never met a stranger. He had a good sense of humor, was a bit of a jokester, and liked to make people laugh. Max liked old cars and rarely missed an opportunity to watch a stock car race.

He is survived by his wife Mary Fringer of Manassa; his children Max P. Fringer of Manassa, Keven (Kim) Fringer of Mosca, CO, and Angel (Justin) Gylling of Manassa, CO; his grandchildren Mayson (Danielle) Gylling, Jeremy (Malory) Fringer, Braxton Fringer, Brydon Gylling, Tytan Gylling, and Aspen Gylling; his siblings Maxine (Larry) Smith of Manassa, CO, Scott (Terri) Fringer of Camp Verde, AZ, Kathy (Joe) Pierce of Denver, CO, Patty Richardson of Camp Verde, AZ, Roxie (David) Chavez of La Jara, CO, Steve (Debbie) Fringer of Manassa, CO, Jeff (Mae) Fringer of Monticello, FL; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Max is preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sister-in-law Lee and Cathy Fringer, and brother-in-law Carl Richardson.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 18th and from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2022, followed by a Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. all at the Manassa Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will follow services in the Manassa-Romeo Cemetery.
