Obituary for Lorraine Hines (Farmer)

Lorraine Hines, 91

Lorraine Hines went to Heaven to be with the Lord on June 8, 2020. She loved the Lord with all of her heart. She read her Bible daily. Lorraine was born July 14, 1928 in Science Hill, Kentucky, the daughter of Bessie Farmer and Charlie Farmer. She outlived two husbands whom she loved very much, Ralph Hines and Albert Farmer.

She is survived by her loving daughter Elizabeth “Liz” Chambers, brother Durward (LaDonna) Farmer, sister Katherine Koenig, daughter-in law Linda Hines, grandsons Chas Hines and Brad Hines, sister-in law Nancy Farmer, many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends, whom she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Dan Chambers, her son Scott Hines, her parents Charlie and Bessie Farmer, brothers Edgar Farmer, Delmar Farmer, Joe Farmer and Frank Farmer, Marion Vallandingham, sisters Dovie Eads, Agnes Wesley, Julia Adams and Josephine Farmer.

Lorraine is also survived by many caring nurses, CNA’s and every staff member at the San Luis Care Center in Alamosa. Many of the other residents and their families were her friends. She also had many other friends and she will truly be missed by all. Lorraine was a hard worker and enjoyed working at different jobs throughout her lifetime. She retired from the Alamosa High School where she was a cook for many years. Prior to that she had been a seamstress making men’s suits at the Palm Beach sewing factory in Kentucky. She also worked at the Gruen Watch Company in Ohio.

We all loved Lorraine and will miss her dearly. She was very kind and loving.

At her request cremation was chosen and there will be no formal memorial service at this time due to Covid-19 Pandemic restrictions, so please no flowers.

Rogers Family Mortuary of Alamosa is in care of the arrangements. To express condolences please visit Lorraine’s obituary at www.RogersFunerals.com
