Obituary for Linda Marie Roybal

Linda Marie Roybal, a spirited soul known for her unwavering devotion to family, and faith, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024, in La Jara, Colorado. Born on April 11, 1953, in Monte Vista, Colorado, Linda's life was a testament to her enduring love and the joy she found in the simplest pleasures.

Linda's journey began in the scenic town of Monte Vista, where she was a beacon of light to all who knew her. Her career as an Operations Assistant at the Rural Electric Cooperative spanned almost five decades, a career marked by dedication and a strong work ethic. Linda's commitment to her role was paralleled only by her involvement in her community, where she was a cherished member.

Family was the cornerstone of Linda's life. She married the love of her life, Eric V. Roybal in May, 1989 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. He preceded her in death in 1996. She is survived by her loving daughters, Erica and Amanda Roybal, who were the pride and joy of her existence. Her sisters, Grace Minx and Marvene Lobato, stood by her side through life's many chapters, sharing in laughter and love. Linda's playful spirit will also be missed by her favorite corgi and border collie, Steve, who was more than a pet but a loyal companion.

Linda's life was enriched by her extensive family, including numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom she adored. Her presence at family gatherings was a source of happiness and unity, and her absence will be deeply felt by her extended family and a multitude of friends.

A woman of many interests, Linda's passions were as diverse as they were engaging. She relished the time spent with her daughters, her mother-in-law Lucy, and all her family members. An avid sports enthusiast, Linda's heart raced with excitement while watching her beloved Denver Broncos. Her love for reading provided her with endless hours of adventure and knowledge, while her daily walks were a time for reflection and appreciation of the world around her.

Linda's faith was a guiding force in her life. As a devoted Catholic, she prayed every day, drawing strength and solace from her spiritual practices. Her faith was an integral part of who she was, and it shone through in her every action.

Those who knew Linda would describe her as spirited, a word that encapsulates her vivacious and resilient nature. Her laughter was infectious, and her capacity for love boundless. Linda's legacy is one of unwavering positivity, a legacy that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
