Obituary for Libby Abitong
Longtime Alamosa resident Libby Abitong, 82, died October 27, 2020 at the Evergreen Nursing Home in Alamosa.
Libby was born in Alamosa, Colorado on April 13, 1938, the daughter to Melisandro and Lucinda (Valdez) Salazar. She married George Abitong and they were married until his death in 2001.
Libby enjoyed embroidery, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Greg (Benita) Abitong of Optima, Oklahoma; her grandchildren Anton Abitong of Guymon, Oklahoma, Cristina Abitong of Sioux City, Iowa and Jared Abitong of Alamosa; her sister Manuelita Varela of Cimarron, New Mexico; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Libby is preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, her son Anthony Abitong and several brothers and sisters.
Cremation was chosen and a Graveside of Ashes will take place at a later date.
