Obituary for Kenneth Ray Carter Kreps

Lifetime Sanford resident Kenneth Ray Carter Kreps, 90, died November 2, 2021 at the San Luis Valley Health Regional Medical Center in Alamosa.

Kenneth was born in Sanford, Colorado the proud son to Noble Ernest Clarence Kreps and Nora Oressa Carter Kreps. He married the love of his life, Jeraldine Jensen in the Logan Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on June 12, 1951.

Kenneth worked as a Master Electrician for more than 58 years and wired many houses throughout the San Luis Valley. He was an active church member and held many callings, including temple work in Denver, which he did for more than 20 years. He enjoyed tinkering with things and could take apart and reassemble just about anything. Building bird houses was a hobby of his. Kenneth had a love for animals, John Deere tractors and cuckoo clocks. In his spare time he liked to bowl, hunt and fish, and play pool.

He is survived by his children: Dennis Kreps of Sanford, Donald (JoNeace) Kreps of Sanford, David “Smoke” Kreps of Sanford, Tammy (Lanny) Kuykendall of Tres Piedres, N.M., Norine Frasier of Sanford, and SynDee (James Spratt) Hughes of Sanford; as well as eighteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jeraldine, his brothers William “Bill” Kreps and Gene Kreps, his great-granddaughter Nyah Jo Crowther and his son-in-law Ronald L. Hughes, Jr.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, November 5, 2021 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Manassa. A Graveside Service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Sanford Cemetery.
