Obituary for Kay Shirleen Grazier

Longtime Monte Vista resident Kay Shirleen Grazier, 48, died November 25, 2012 at the Parkview Hospital in Pueblo.
Shirleen was born to Sam and Ella G. Grazier on December 3, 1963 in Monte Vista, Colorado.
Shirleen was a member of Blue Peaks Developmental Services for more than 40 years and enjoyed working for Valley Industries. She had a knack for arts and crafts and enjoyed many hours expressing her creativity.
Shirleen was very social person and never met a stranger. She enjoyed spending time with her family and thoroughly loved giving and receiving gifts. Her hobbies were collecting stickers, key chains and post cards. Shirleen really looked forward to participating in the Special Olympics.
Shirleen is survived by her mother Ella Painter of Monte Vista; her brothers and sisters Paul (Linda) Grazier of Denton, TX, Rhoda (Adrian) Getz of Alamosa, Carl (Susan) Grazier of Rio Rancho, NM, Cheryl (Buck) Worker of Gallup, NM, Robin (Mindy) Painter of Alamosa, Sherry (Jim) Bertrand of Alamosa and Lorretta (Jack) Holland of Monte Vista.
Her father Sam preceded her in death in 1976 as well as her step-father Truman Painter in 2012 and all of her maternal and paternal grandparents.
A visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2012 followed by a Celebration of Life Service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012 both at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa. Interment will follow services in the Monte Vista Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Blue Peaks Developmental Services for the Gonzales House, 703 4th Street, Alamosa, CO 81101.
