Obituary for Judith Ellen Tisdale

Judith Ellen Tisdale, 70, peacefully passed away on April 29, 2014, after a 10 month battle with neuroendocrine carcinoma.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend her graveside funeral service on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 1pm at the Alamosa cemetery followed by a celebration of her life at their home in Monte Vista, Colorado. The family is going to keep it casual and asks that you do too, Judy's favorite t-shirts were Life is Good, that is what the family will be wearing.
Judy retired from Adams State University where she worked as the office manager in the Admissions office. Deciding that retirement is not all it was cracked up to be, she went to work at Catlins Greenhouse, as she called it, "hauling hoses and raising babies (plants)" where she found a second family in all the people she worked with there. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, the great outdoors, good wine and great friends. She loved having projects whether it be sewing, painting or working with her jig saw; the busier, the better.
Judy was born in Whittemore, IA, one of 12 siblings. Raised on a farm, she knew the value of hard work and demonstrated her her work ethic throughout her life. She is survived by her husband Mike; daughter Kathy Tucker, her husband Bret, grandchildren Joseph & Owen; step-daughter Traci Holmes and her husband James "Fuzzy" and grandchildren Stoan and Conner; and step-son Taylor and grandchildren Avery and Caden. She is also survived by brothers Bob, Gary and Wayne, and sisters Susan, Lorraine and Mary. She was predeceased by her daughter Karen Trujillo, parents Carl and Velma Lenz, sisters Jean, Joan and Lois; brothers Don and Rich.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make a donation in her memory to your favorite charity.
