Joyce Williams, 86, passed away on December 24, 2015, in Grand Junction, Colorado. She was born on July 8, 1929, in Marshall, Logan, Oklahoma to Floyd Leon Claunch and Birdie Fae Cook. When she was almost 5 years old her parents moved to Colorado to the San Luis Valley where she grew up. She graduated from La Jara High School and went to Business College in Denver in 1947 where she got a secretarial degree. She had many jobs as a secretary. She was baptized on April 4, 1948, into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has been a faithful member all of her life.

On December 10, 1949, Joyce married Jay Evart Morgan in Sanford, Colorado. Jay and Joyce were later sealed together in the Mesa Arizona Temple on February 18, 1952. To this union were born five children. Jay died in a car accident on October 16, 1969, and she later married Ferron Vance Layton on December 20, 1975, in Manassa, Colorado. Ferron and Joyce were temple workers in the Denver Colorado Temple which was one of the happiest times of her life. Ferron passed away from cancer on August 21, 1991. She was loved by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She kept the road hot between Colorado, Utah and Idaho with Grandma Kelly as the navigator. She made a great effort to attend all of the important events for her family and her love was unbounded. She will be greatly missed by her posterity.

On March 3, 2003, Joyce and Hoyte Glade Williams were married in Grand Junction, Colorado. They enjoyed travelling, fishing and camping. She lived there until her passing.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Hoyte Williams of Grand Junction, her children; Hugh Morgan (Luana) of South Weber, Utah, Shannon Robison (Roland) of Thatcher, Utah, Lorna Shaw (George) of Saratoga Springs, Utah, Julie Child (Gary) of Post Falls, Idaho, Tom Hogan of Logan, Utah, her siblings Bobby Claunch (Leona), Nancy Morgan (Robert), James Claunch (Karma), and Sara Burnett (Buddy), 33 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, and 3 sisters-in-law, Lena Mae Hansen, Venna Dee Morgan and LaVerde Hope. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Hogan and her parents.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Manassa 2nd Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, December 29th and Wednesday morning, December 30th from 10:00 to 10:45 am at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Manassa. Interment will follow in the Sanford Cemetery.
