Obituary for John Macomber King

Alamosa resident John M. King, 79, passed away on September 18, 2022. He was born on December 30, 1942 in Canton, Ohio. He was adopted by John William King and Mary Ida (Macomber) King. He honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965 and then two years in the reserves. He loved his time in the service and his education as an aircraft electrician. His love of electronics and technology served him well throughout his life as he was often called upon to help with IT issues. John was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Alamosa and served on the Trinity School Board, was the properties Director, Chairman of the congregation as well as participating in the Sunday Bible Class. While living in Plain City, Ohio he served on the Union County Board MR-DD. He was a long-time member of St. John Lutheran Church in Dublin, Ohio, where he was a founder of the Fidelis League, as well as the Head Trustee for over 10 years, on the building committee, the Joshua Fellowship and worked for the church at the Farm Science Review every year. John enjoyed camping, computers, genealogy and he had a love for music.

He is survived by his wife of over 56 years, Lucy B. King, and his daughter Kim King of Alamosa, two sisters-in-law, Diane (Blumenschein) Croy of Delaware Ohio; and Rita (Blumenschein) McGlone of Dublin, Ohio, some cousins and a lot of loving friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Patricia Gust.

Cremation was selected and a memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday October 9, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alamosa. A second memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday October 23, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marysville, Ohio.
