Obituary for John Joseph Chase
John Joseph Chase, 88, of Fort Garland, CO, passed away peacefully on Sept. 25th, 2019.
John was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 26th, 1931 to Constantine and Anna Chase.
Upon graduation from Fordham University, John spent two years in the Air Force, attaining rank of First Lieutenant. He went on to complete a law degree at St. John’s Law School.
John had a successful career as an insurance lawyer with the Hartford Insurance Agency and the New York State Liquidation Bureau.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a twin brother Raphael (Bob) Chase.
John is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley, and a brother Cornelius Chase (Carolyn) in addition to five children; daughters Lisa Laissle (Robert), Barbara Pugliese (John), and sons Robert Chase (Jean), John Chase (Maureen) and Thomas Chase (Katherine). John was also blessed with seven grandchildren.
A praying of the rosary will take place on Friday October 18th at 7pm
at Holy Family Mission Church, 626 Beaubien Ave, Fort Garland, CO.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday October 19th at 10am at Holy Family Mission Church, 626 Beaubien Ave, Fort Garland, CO.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
