Joann Carmen Torrez, 85, passed away peacefully August 16, 2020 in Del Norte, Colorado. She was born on October 3, 1934 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Jim and Freda Archibald. On June 18, 1955 she married her best friend, David Torrez, in Raton, New Mexico.

Joann loved to love her family. She showed it by cooking delicious meals, taking care of her grandchildren, and sewing quilts and crocheting blankets for them. She loved traveling and spending winters in Arizona with her husband.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David and sister Shirley Fisher.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Leonard) Garcia of Center, CO; David J. (Shannon) Torrez, Glendale, AZ; and Pam (Anthony) Trujillo, Monte Vista, CO. Her grandchildren: Nicki (Frank) Ogutu, Greensboro, NC; Casey (Lisa) Garcia, Alamosa, CO; Mike Trujillo, Monte Vista, CO; Jimmy (Rebecca) Torrez, Colorado Springs, CO; Sasha (Omar) Gonzalez, Monte Vista, CO; Marissa Trujillo, Monte Vista, CO; five great grandchildren, Madison and Zoey Garcia; Scott Torrez; Emmie and Reis Gonzalez; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
