Obituary for James Pete Valdez

Alamosa – Longtime valley resident James Pete Valdez, 53, passed away in Alamosa on June 5, 2014. He was born on February 21, 1961 in Romeo, Colorado to Fidelia Chavez. He enjoyed attending church, truly loved running his own landscaping business and was a true handyman.
He is survived by his sisters; Berline Chavez of Fort Collins, Marylou (Larry) Lujan of Pueblo, Colorado, Estella Chavez of Alamosa and Ramona (Jose) Vasquez of Delta, Colorado as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended families and friends.
James was preceded in death by his mother Fidelia Chavez and his siblings; Gilbert Chavez, Evangeline Nieto, Felix Chavez and Ermalinda Vigil.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday June 11, 2014 at the Feed Store Family Training Center in Monte Vista. Burial will follow services in the Los Cerritos Cemetery in Manassa. Following the burial there will be a reception at the Romeo Town Hall. James wishes were that no one would wear dark colors to his service, bright colors are requested.
