Obituary for James Foster Reynolds

Alamosa - Longtime Alamosa resident James Foster Reynolds, 74, passed away on September 20, 2014. He was born on September 24, 1939 in Gary, Indiana to Floyd and Virginia Reynolds. James honorably served his country for 6 years in the United States Army. He worked as a mail carrier for a number of years before running a successful business as a roofer for 30 years. In 1984 he married Tammy Sue Weller in Oxnard, California. James enjoyed the companionship of his favorite dog, Dusty. James also enjoyed the outdoors, riding his bike and occasionally beating his daughter, Catherine, at basketball or his oldest son, James in a game of chess.
James was a compassionate and loving father to his children as well as a faithful husband to his wife of 30 years.
James is survived by his wife Tammy Reynolds, his children; James Reynolds, Michael Reynolds and Catherine Reynolds, his granddaughter, Julianna Faith Reynolds, as well as his siblings; Richard Reynolds, Terry Reynolds, Karen Reynolds, Debbie Reynolds, Janet Reynolds, and Ronald Reynolds.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Virginia Reynolds and his older sister, Irene Reynolds.
Cremation has been selected and private family services will be held. Contributions are suggested to Hospice Del Valle or a cancer charity of your choice in James memory and may be made in care of the funeral home office.
