Obituary for Isabelle Joyce Richardson

Lifetime Manassa resident Isabelle Joyce Richardson, 86, died January 14, 2022, at the San Luis Valley Health Conejos County Hospital in La Jara.

Joyce was born in Manassa, Colorado the proud daughter of Orris Edwin Coleman and Isabelle Jackson Coleman. She married Melvin Edward Richardson, Sr., on April 14, 1956, in Taos, New Mexico. They were sealed for eternity on February 5, 2005, in the Albuquerque, New Mexico Temple.

Joyce worked for many years as a Respiratory Therapist. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Joyce also liked crossword and jig-saw puzzles and taking rides to the mountains. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to cook for her family. She enjoyed working on her flower bed - especially her hollyhocks.

She is survived by her children Melvin (Michelle) Richardson, Jr. of Manassa, Robert Richardson of Mesa, AZ, Tammy (Gerald) Martinez of Alamosa, CO, Lance (Alicia) Richardson of Mesa, AZ, Sharlene (Scott) VanGieson of Alamosa, Richelle Christensen of La Jara, CO, and Dawn (Leroy Gardunio) Richardson of Alamosa; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; her sister Donna (Dennis) Rampton of Gilbert, AZ; her sister-in-law JoAnne Coleman of Young, AZ; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Edwin Coleman, her sister Ramona Jean Bingham, her brother Jerald Coleman and her son-in-law Frank Christensen.

A Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on 21, January 2022 at the Manassa Stake Center, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on 22, January 2022 also at the Manassa Stake Center. Interment will follow services in the Manassa Cemetery.
