Obituary for Iram Bertos Esquibel

Iram Bertos Esquibel
Pueblo – Long time Alamosa resident Iram B. Esquibel, 50, passed away at the Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, Colorado on January 28, 2016. Iram was born in Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico to Ubaldo and Felicita Esquibel on June 29, 1965. He married Teresa Ann Gallegos in Monte Vista, Colorado and spent many happy years together here in Alamosa.

Iram was a man with a zest for life and always lived it to the fullest. He was always busy doing something whether it be improving his own home or one of the many properties he managed or following his passion of coaching and umpiring baseball. He truly loved coaching all the way from little league to high school to anyone who just needed some pointers. Iram also loved to go fishing and hunting and would enjoy telling his fishing stories to his family or to all his friends while sitting around the table enjoying a good game of poker, and bowling with his friends. The one thing Iram loved more than anything else was his family. Spending time with them was truly his greatest joy and he will be truly missed by each and every one of them.

Iram is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Esquibel of Alamosa. His children; Julie (Eric T. Atencio) Lopez-Atencio, Nancy Lopez, James (Felisha) Lopez, Audrey Esquibel, Ann Esquibel, Jonathan Gurule, and Noah Esquibel all of Alamosa. His Grandchildren; Cruz Gurule, Ashanti Pena, Luciano LeBlanc, Jessica Lopez, and Desirae Lopez. His siblings; Ninfa Alarid of Monte Vista, Bernie (Jake) Burden of Texas, Georgia (Frankie) Morales of Del Norte, Sarah (Benny) Duran of Monte Vista, Chris Esquibel of Monte Vista, Denise Esquibel of Del Norte, Rick (Tina) Esquibel of Alamosa as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Ubaldo and Felicita Esquibel. And his siblings Felipe Esquibel, Toby Esquibel, Joann Esquibel, and Annabelle Esquibel.

Cremation was chosen and a Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 7:00 P.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. also at the church with inurnment following at the Alamosa Cemetery.
