Obituary for Glenn Edward Lanier

Glenn Edward “Ed” Lanier, 60, passed away at his home in Alamosa, CO on December 5, 2015, after a long illness.

Ed was born in Alamosa on December 30, 1954 to James W. Lanier and Mildred Lanier. He spent his entire life in Alamosa. Ed was an accomplished basketball player while in high school, and prior to becoming ill he enjoyed everything about Colorado. He especially enjoyed going on fishing and camping trips with his brothers and friends. Ed was an avid sports fan, and even up to his death his home was filled with friends every Sunday for Denver Broncos games. He especially liked playing Cribbage with his brothers and friends, and most always took the pot at the end of the game.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Alyene Ford, Norma Jean Buhr, Betty and Barbara Lanier and brothers David, Albert and Michael Lanier.

Ed is survived by his sister Linda McAvoy of Meridian, ID, Jim Lanier of Littleton, CO, Bob Lanier of Alamosa, CO and Herb Lanier of Alamosa, CO.

A Graveside of Ashes Service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Alamosa Cemetery.
