Gary Phillip  Rubino
Castle Rock – Longtime Del Norte Resident Gary Phillip Rubino, 75, passed away in Castle Rock, Colorado on December 28, 2015. Gary was born June 14, 1940 in Bell, California to Simon and Louise Rubino.

Gary joined the United States Air Force in 1958 and proudly served his country until 1966. He always had a love for planes and made a living as an aviation instructor. Not only were planes a part of his livelihood but he also had the hobby of building and flying RC Planes which brought him many hours of joy. He was always busy with his hands tinkering and building and just working on nearly anything he could get his hands on. That included a wide range of hobbies from cooking his favorite meal in the kitchen to spending hours in his yard gardening in the summer sun. When he wasn’t busy working with his hands Gary also loved to read, his thirst for knowledge was unquenchable and continued learning throughout his life.

Gary is survived by his brother Gerald Rubino and his children; Carmen Rubino, Paige and her husband Tom Soulier of Ohio, Gary Jr. and his wife Christine Rubino, Jennifer Rubino, Simon and his wife Andrea Rubino, adopted daughter Ereina Rubino, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Simon and Louise Rubino.

A graveside service for Gary will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Castle Rock Colorado with services beginning at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that contributions be made to the Prostrate Cancer Foundation in Gary’s honor.
