Obituary

Lifetime Manassa resident Gary Marvin Anderson, 83, died November 6, 2020 at his home in Manassa.
Gary was born in Alamosa, Colorado on May 12, 1937, the son to Marvin Carl and Iza Evelyn Smith Anderson. He married his eternal companion Carolyn Marie Westbrook in the Mesa Arizona Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on September 21, 1965.

Gary worked for many years as a Federal Fruit and Vegetable Inspector and took great pride in growing his potatoes and crops. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting with his kids and grandkids. Gary also loved a good garage sale.

He was a lifetime member of the Manassa Saddle club and helped oversee the horse races. He mined and cut turquoise for many years and enjoyed spending time with his brother and cousin. Above all, he enjoyed time spent with his family.

He is survived by his children Joel (Anjeanette) Anderson of Manassa, Bradley (Nancy) Anderson of Manassa, Danielle (Mark) Rogers of Grand Junction, Brant (Kyla) Anderson of Sanford, Heather (Tyler) Huffaker of La Jara, and Nicholas (Camberly) Anderson of Kanab, UT; his brother Monte (Cynthia) Anderson of Manassa and sisters Roxie (Wade) Peterson of Sanford and Carla (Lyle) Hutchins of Claremore, OK; as well as 26 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends. He was so loved by them all.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his granddaughter Abigail Anderson; and his siblings Tyrrel Rose Anderson, Virginia (Clive) Edgar.

A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the Manassa Cemetery.
