Obituary for Evelyn Claire Westenburg

Evelyn Claire Westenburg passed peacefully into glory on May 25, 2015 at the San Luis Care Center in Alamosa, CO surrounded by her loving family. Evelyn was born on January 1, 1933 in Prospect Park, NJ. She attended Christian schools in Paterson, NJ and was married to Lawrence Fodor on August 24, 1954. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters. In 1974, after the death of Lawrence, she married Bill Westenburg. She was a member of the Alamosa Christian Reformed Church in Waverly, CO and served on numerous committees over the years.
Evelyn is survived by her three daughters, Carolyn (Mike) Smith, Barbara Montoya, Diane (Ken) Dykstra and two step children, Gerald (Patti) Westenburg and Marge (Evan) Docter. She is also survived by eight grand children, six step grand children and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two brothers, James and Samuel Greydanus, one sister, Dorothy Heersink, her two husbands, Lawrence Fodor and Bill Westenburg, and one dear son in law, Daniel Montoya.
A private graveside service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 followed by a memorial service for family and friends at the Alamosa Christian Reformed Church at 11:00 in Waverly, CO. The church is located at 1861 County Road 10 S, Alamosa, CO 81101. Donations can be made in Evelyn’s name to the Alamosa Christian Reformed Church.
