Obituary for Eric Leigh Mortensen
Longtime valley resident Eric Leigh Mortensen, 59, passed away on Saturday October 10, 2020. He was born on May 22, 1961 in Alamosa, Colorado to Ardith and Cherie (Vance) Mortensen.
Eric was a self employed truck driver for most of his life. He was very proud of his semi truck and always made sure it was well maintained and had upgrades for performance. After 38 years of driving, he spent his time at home and enjoyed being a grandpa to three grandchildren, Hailey (7), Joshua (4) and Liam (1). His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he loved them with all of his heart. He also enjoyed watching football, westerns and made sure he was current on all the latest news. Eric was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his children, Marcus Gallegos of Sanford, Mirinda (D.J.) Medina of Alamosa and Brandon (Carolina) Mortensen of Sanford, his grandchildren, Hailey, Joshua, and Liam as well as his siblings, Richard (Canda) Mortensen of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Debra (Tim) King of Manassa, Tamera (Stewart) Smith of Manassa, Angie (Larry) Loven of Pueblo, JoAnn (Anthony) Bagwell of Alamosa, Aimee Mortensen of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Lisa (Matt) Bettridge of Saratoga Springs, Utah and Lori (Brad) Sanderson of Saratoga Springs, Utah as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
