Obituary for Eloise Delore Hunter

Alamosa – Longtime Alamosa resident Eloise Delore Hunter, 86, passed away on October 25, 2014 in Alamosa, Colorado. She was born on July 3, 1928 in Logan, Oklahoma to George Wallace Brown and Velma Elizabeth Elston. Eloise married Robert Harry Hunter on May 28, 1944 in Taos, New Mexico. Eloise was a homemaker most of her life. For 14 years she worked as a cook at Boyd Elementary School and loved her job. She was a member of the River of Life Assembly of God Church in Alamosa. She loved reading her Bible, watching the Broncos, Survivor and cooking shows, enjoyed embroidery and word searches.
She is survived by her children; Larry (Hilda) Hunter, Harold (Lori) Hunter, Linda Damewood and Donald Hunter, her daughter-in-law Rena Hunter, fifteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren, her siblings; Elvin D. (Mariann) Brown, Venita Matthews, Rita (Jim) Aldridge, Kenneth Brown and Darlene Casey as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her children; Ronald Keith Hunter, Darrell Hunter, Robert Eugene Hunter, her granddaughter Kristal Ann Roberts, her siblings, La Vera Divine, Earl Brown, Meral Brown and Karene Johnson and her best friend Bella Lopez.
A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 31, 2014 at the Rogers Family mortuary in Alamosa. Cremation will follow the services and her ashes will be buried at a later date with her husband in the Alamosa cemetery.
