Obituary for Eddie George Garcia Sr.
Alamosa – Eddie George Garcia Sr. , 74, passed away in his home on October 26, 2015. Eddie was born on December 17, 1940 to Eduardo Vigil and Ophelia Garcia in Alamosa, Colorado.
Eddie loved his family dearly and spent as much time as possible with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They truly were the light of his life and he never let a moment pass to show them how much he cared. He served on the Alamosa City Council and was a long time clerk at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Alamosa. One of Eddie’s favorite hobbies was to be out in nature fishing the day away hoping for the big catch even though he was a professional when it came to telling stories about the one that got away.
Eddie is survived by his children; Kimberly (Roy) Oman of Norman, Oklahoma, Consuelo (Terry) Pacheco of Monte Vista, Colorado, Eddie (Amanda) Garcia Jr. of Westminster, Colorado and Jesse Garcia of Alamosa, Colorado, his Brother Loyd Lopez of Temple, Texas, his 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Eduardo Vigil and Ophelia Garcia, as well as his brothers; Robert Lopez and Eldon Lopez.
Cremation was chosen with Rogers Family Mortuary of Alamosa in care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to any charity of your choice in Eddies Honor.
