Valley resident Devin Matthew Johnston, 27, passed away on June 20, 2013 in Alamosa, Colorado.
He was born on October 6, 1985 in Alamosa, Colorado. He grew up in Del Norte, Colorado. Devin graduated from Del Norte High School in 2004. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. He also enjoyed spending time with his “buddy” Izzy, and was excited to watch his new nephew Kelton grow up, playing his guitar and taking pictures. Devin was a friend to everyone he met.
Devin is survived by his parents Tim and Sandra Johnston of Del Norte, his biological father John Comstock of Manassa, his grandparents Leon and Lena Jack of Manassa and Luriene Johnston of Del Norte, his brothers and sisters; Jarad (Shawna) Johnston of Monte Vista, Thomas Johnston (Elaine Brown) of Del Norte, John Clayton Comstock of Manassa, Christopher Comstock, Jocelyn Comstock, Desare Comstock and Destiny Comstock all of Alamosa, his niece and “Buddy” Izzabella Johnston and nephew Kelton Johnston as well and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Charles Wesley Johnston and John Ellis and LaVina Comstock, his uncle Charles Ricky Johnston and his aunts Glenda Hazlitt and Marcella Comstock.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday June 28, 2013 at the Monte Vista Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 PM to 8:00 p.m. at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista. Cremation will follow the services. Contributions are suggested to the “In memory of Devin Johnston account” set up at the First Southwest Bank in Alamosa.
