Crestone resident David Charles Nelson, 85, died December 20, 2021 at his home in Crestone.
David’s life began in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of John Griffith Nelson and Helen May Perrill Nelson.
David worked as a musician, an artist and an editor. He founded and edited for the Solid Muldoon publication in the early 1970’s, edited the newsletter “Wren” in Bisbee, AZ, and founded a Hot Springs Community in Mimbres Valley, New Mexico. He also was involved in and worked on a city project called “Ditch Park” in Silver City, New Mexico and worked with Business Consciousness in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
He is survived by his Domestic Partner Jane Kuan of Crestone, CO; his daughter Jennifer of Albuquerque, NM; his sister Kris (Bob) Beer of Thornton, CO; as well as nephews Mike, Cam, Kevin and Tim Claney, niece Tania Schramm and nephew Sean Harrison.
David is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carol Nelson Claney.
Cremation was chosen and services will be announced at a later date.
